Jazzmeia Horn Live at North Sea Jazz Fest 2018 - "I Remember You"
She is just 27, but the New York Jazzmeia Horn is already compared to illustrious names like Sarah Vaughan and Betty Carter. Not for nothing was Horn twice first during the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Competition. In addition, the singer won the Thelonious Monk Institute Jazz Vocals Competition in 2015. Her mature vocals and scats are of a dizzyingly high level full of rich tones with which she strengthens the music. On her well-received debut A Social Call, a rich musical palette passes which Horn navigates between jazz, R & B, gospel and world. In her lyrics Horn puts her fist in the air against the injustice in society. According to The New York Times, Horn is the most talked-about jazz vocalist to emerge ever since Cécile McLorin became Salvant and Gregory Porter both became stars.
